Mark this day

Yesterday was the first day of morning sickness to a new level.  I lost my food twice. Once before dinner and then later after a before bed snack.  Then at work today I puked in the bathroom.  Gross.
The only thing I feel like eating is toast.  6 more weeks until 2nd trimester.  6 more weeks.  I *think* I can make it.

Week 7

Pregnancy: 7 weeks

Weight Gain: none yet.  Maybe lost a pound or two.

Sleep: I haven't slept a full night since my BFP.  I wake up at 5 am tossing and turning until it is time to get up at 7 am.

Gender: Too early

Name: No name yet!  Way too early for that.

Feeling: Tired and sick.  The morning sickness has kicked into full swing.  Everything makes me gag.  I mean everything.

Health: No idea.  Hopefully good.  I don't go back to the OB until my 13th week.

Movement: None

Belly: Bloated!

What I am looking forward to: Dragging out those maternity pants because they are comfy!

What I miss: Eating anything I want and being able to go to hours without eating something.

Week 6 and 1st appointment

I made it to week six! Week 7 starts tomorrow.
The morning sickness has gotten worse this week.  I am always hungry-to the point of starvation. If I don't find something to eat, I start dry heaving.  Oh it is a wonderful thing.  My pants are starting to get tighter around the waist.  Last time, I was in maternity pants at 9 weeks.  Lets see how long I can hold out before I need to drag those clothes out....or get a bella band.

I had my first official appointment today with my OB....well an OB.  My OB is on vacation so I met with an alternate OB.  No biggie though.  At my practice, I meet with all of the OB's in the office throughout the pregnancy.  I had a pelvic exam and he felt my uterus to see how big it is.  NO early ultrasound for me :o(.  He says I am measuring at 6-7 weeks and not 8-9 weeks.  My due date still stands at 1/7/11 and not 12/31/10.

Week 5

Baby Apple is now the size of an appleseed!  My cramps have stopped but the morning sickness and nausea has gotten worse each day.  I find myself needing to scarf down breakfast right when I get up instead of a couple hours when I get to work.
I still have most of my energy, but find myself getting up at the crack of dawn for no reason!  I can sleep in most days until 7:30 am but no.  I am usually wide awake at 6am.  Fun fun.  I forgot about the lack of sleep from the last time around.

I had an appointment with the nurse and got a folder full of fun reading materials.  I also came armed with my chart because I knew my EDD would come up.  After she looked over my chart and saw when I ovulated, she agreed that my due date probably should be January 7th and not December 31st.  When I go for my exam next Thursday, my OB will measure my uterus and let me know how many weeks I am.  If my OB can't decide, then I *might* get an ultra sound.  Honestly, I think that would be great to get to see my little apple seed so early!  I won't get another until 20 weeks.

The Journey to Baby Apple #2

DH and I had been trying to conceive baby #2 since November.  After three months of just "seeing what happens" I was greatly discouraged.
After three BFN's I thought I should probably start upping this TTC to the next level.  I signed up with Fertility Friend and picked up a BBT Thermometer. The first month was tough.  I barely knew what I was doing, wondering if I was taking my temps right.  My cycles ranged from 28 days to 33 days....or so I thought.  My fourth cycle was nuts.  I tested on day 30.  BFN.  Day 31. BFN. Day 33. BFN.  Day 39. Took a blood test at OB office. BFN. Day 40. AF showed up.  I suspect that I had a cyst which burst after AF showed.  I was in terrible pain and had that same pulling sensation I had months ago when my OB found a cyst.  Not sure if that had anything to do with my super long cycle or if it was just stress.
Round #5, I grabbed some Clear Blue Easy OPK's and got a + on both CD 21 and CD 22.  I was thrilled!  I thought for a few minutes that maybe this was our month.  We timed it all right.
On April 27th CD 33-11 DPO (The day I was expected to get AF)  I decided to take a Pregnancy Test.  I only had digital tests left and was a little nervous because I read that digitals were less sensitive than line tests.  I did my thing and left the bathroom.  I couldn't get my heart to stop trying to pound out of my chest.  I came back two minutes later expecting to see "Not Pregnant".  Boy was I surprised to see "Pregnant". I ran into the bedroom and jumped on the bed and whispered into DH's ear "I'm pregnant!" He was so excited.  We laid in bed for a minute or two hugging and crying.  This was it!!
Here is my chart Positive Pregnancy Chart.

We plan on telling our families this Mother's day. I will be 5 weeks when we tell.  Our plan is to have Emily run in wearing this shirt.
